2025 Pre-Season Kicker and Punter Position Rankings

by Zachary Dolenar

kicker:

1. Teddy Leyba 🐂 - New talent to the league wins this category with an extremely accurate 27/30 in PATs and 1/2 FG’s last season.

2. Corey Lay 🔱 - Easily the most accomplished Kicker on this list. He’s kicked 68 PAT’s and 3 FG’s in his career, including the only ever game winner in a championship game. I was tempted to put him #1, though his availability is limited these days with military obligations.

3. James Hull 🔅- Injured to start this year, so who knows how available he will be. He’s 24/46 PAT and 1/1 FG in his career. Last season he was 10/19 PAT which isn’t great, but was 1/1 FG.

4. Jabe Bennett 🐺- Will kick for the Alphas this season. I’m not sure why I can’t find his previous stats. But he gets the nod over new guys because he’s a returning player.

5. Alex Saunders 🐅 - New to the ICFL. But this new guy from Australia has spent the last decade and a half kicking overseas in both football and rugby. The Sabers talk him up as the best kicker in the league.

6. Ezekiel Arrellano ⛏️- Another new guy. Listed as the regular kicker for the Diggers who have had decent kickers in their past. Who knows what 2025 holds for him.

punter:

1. Eric Bassett 🔱 - Uncontested best punter in the league. He’s been the top punter in the league for nearly a decade. He’s punted 48 times for a 45.4 yd avg over the last 8 seasons.

2. James Hull 🔅- Again, injured, so we will see. But he’s punted 27 times for 922 yards (34 avg) over the last 3 seasons.

3. Justin Kerner 🐅- Was injured most of last season, but spent all off season working with a punting specialist which is more effort than anyone else on this list puts in. Last season he was 6 att. for 117 yards.

4. AJ Hunter ⛏️- Do it all guy plays QB, FS, and Punts for the Diggers. His punting stats are from prior to 2020. The Diggers say he will be the guy, though Estrada may do some as well.

5. Josh Stewart ✈️ - 13 att. 339 yds. 2 years ago with the Guardians. I assume he will probably punt for the Warhawks this season, but who really knows.
